What matters to me today is strategic, timely communication. Before law school, I was a journalist for an international, Pulitzer Prize-winning daily newspaper. Beginning with zero experience, I learned essential investigation, authoritative sourcing, and critical communication strategies from the ground up. One of the first things my editors drilled into my head is that no matter how profound or important your topic, if your target audience doesn’t believe that it matters today, they will not read it in the first place.
That is my goal with this blog: effective communication of what matters (at least to me) today. As most are already aware, I frequently publish legal and policy analyses of the latest court decisions, adopted statutes, and regulatory proposals in my professional arena. I will continue to do so. But the point here will simply be to call your attention to compelling, late-breaking matters with their relevant context in 250 words or less. News you can use when and while it matters, in plain English, and in a consumable format. The entries will be what happens to matter to me today. Maybe it will matter to you; maybe not.
